The developers tried to address this issue by merging regions and removing modes, in theory, a good strategy, unfortunately, it did little but alienate the remaining community, with so many better and more active games available, few PS5 owners have the patience to wait 10+ minutes to play a round of a mode they may not like, on a server with moderate to high latency.Дevelopment has continued despite these setbacks, and as of July 2021, the developers (Lucid Games) have asked for patience as they work on a large update, which I personally believe will become Destruction AllstarвЂ™s вЂњDo or DieвЂќ update, with future updates being dependant on the success of this вЂњfinalвЂќ attempt to revive what should have been one of PS5вЂ™s flagship titles.

This alone has contributed more to the demise of Destruction AllStars than anything else, and there are just too few people interested in this type of game to attempt anything less than a multi-gen/multiplatform launch.Дespite being made available to all PS Plus subscribers in February 2021, it was already struggling to fill lobbies by the end of that month, and by the time it went for sale in April 2021, it was вЂњalready too lateвЂќ, with a mere fraction of its player base remaining and multiple modes and even entire regions no longer being able to provide stable matchmaking at off-peak times, and in some cases not even at peak times. With widespread hardware shortages resulting in most of the Playstation player base being forced to remain on the PlayStation 4, there are just too few Playsation 5 owners to launch an online-only Playstation 5 exclusive title, especially when vehicular combat games are traditionally niche titles that lack widespread appeal. With stunning visuals, fun mechanics, and a wide pool of unique characters, Destruction AllStar should be doing better than it is, and part of the reason for its near-total demise less than 4 months after its official launch is the games limited availability and accessibility. However, the developers are only partially to blame for this chain of events, and Destruction AllStars is actually a very decent game at its core, albeit a repetitious one that will only appeal to a niche market. One thing I feel needs to be made clear before we proceed, Destruction AllStars is dead, and at this point, only the most drastic of measures could revive it.
